Ambience is nice. Service not bad, but they don't understand everything the guests want. And brought the wrong food despite ordering an iPad, we didn't order it at all. Since November 1st, 2019 (new opening) we have been there very often. Unfortunately you can't compare the food now. Before the Corona time with the buffet was much better and more choice. Price has also gotten higher. What a shame

I was just eating there and I have to say it was great! Not only the very nice ambience and the good service was perfect, the very modern ordering system at the table - which is corona compliant - worked great. About the food: there is a huge selection of freshly prepared dishes (also in the buffet area !!) that are really delicious. I now had 9 different dishes in my lunch buffet, which are served in small portions immediately after completion. All of them were tasty and well served. Price-performance is really right in this case.

I have also been to the former Shangrila a few times in the past. Today (Corona time) I was there again after a long time. I have to praise the successors to the restaurant. The renovation and furnishing was very complex and expensive. It is now bright, modern and you feel very comfortable. Before I get to dinner: The toilets were clean as they should be. Mouthwash and small disposable cups are available, which I personally find attentive. The waiters are absolutely friendly, very attentive and courteous. Professional work! Hats off! In my opinion, the cooks are absolute artists. The food tastes super fresh since the change. Everything is presented warmly and nicely, served warm and is a pure experience for connoisseurs. In the Corona time, as already mentioned here, you order with the tray. I think this change is a very corona-friendly idea and the entire team is implementing it with flying colors. As far as I'm concerned, it can stay that way after Corona. It was very straightforward. The food came quickly and it didn't take long until everything was there. We were asked again and again whether everything was okay. I felt really good. I didn't have any desserts because I was just too full :) In my opinion, the overall package justifies the price. For such good service, fresh and laborious cuisine in a feel-good atmosphere, I am happy to pay this price. I still have suggestions for improvement: The description of the dishes could be more precise. So that you know roughly what to expect. I am relatively uncomplicated, have no allergies and am not a vegetarian. If I were, I would have had some questions today ... The photos on the tablet could be much more professional, then it would fit perfectly with the rest of the ambience. AND very important: A trash can is urgently needed in the ladies' room. If it stays the way it is now, or if it gets better ... I'll come back over and over again. Now I'll go to sleep with a full stomach.

Hi folks, it's time for an evaluation again. Had already rated the shangri-la, which wasn't so positive, wanted to give the successor a chance, so this rating is completely new. 1. Location, accessibility and ambience: The restaurant is on the upper floor of the Passage am Ostend. Reachable in a short time by tram (11/14) or by train (Ostendstrasse station) as well as a small footpath. Once you have crossed the great entrance area below, you will be greeted by a bright, friendly and beautifully designed ambience when you arrive at the top. This is in the Asian style and everything is very clean and tidy. No comparison to the predecessor of this restaurant 2. Reception and staff: At the reception, the greeting is very friendly and you are told that you are very welcome. Due to Corona you have to fill out information, of course, but this is already everyday life. The staff leads their guests to one of the many places, which are designed for 2 to large groups. If there has not yet been a visit, the time is taken to explain the system in a very understandable way so that even technically inexperienced people can quickly see through. Food and ordering system: The system is very simple. Everything runs on an iPad, which can be quickly exchanged for another even when the battery is almost empty. In the evening you can order 5 servings from the range of 150 dishes per person. Means 10 portions or positions for 2 people. This can be repeated after waiting 10 minutes. The time is displayed, also how many laps or how long you have been there. There is a timer that generates a maximum time of 3 hours. This is definitely enough time. Now the most important thing is to eat. From sushi, in the form of makis, to the larger rolls, there are lots of different ones. Have tried a lot of them and couldn't find one that didn't taste good. In addition to soups, rice, nuggets (yes, nuggets as well) you also have different types of fish to eat. My favorite were the steamed (if that's the name) dumplings with meat or other filling. Without exaggerating, there was nothing I didn't like and that's rare. It is understandable that you have to wait 10 or 15 minutes for the food, as the things are only prepared after ordering, which improves the taste even more. Price: The iPad buffet food costs 24.90 per person, the drinks of course cost extra and are not necessarily cheap but reasonable. Conclusion: The successor to the shangri-la really does a great job. I hope that more people will find and support this restaurant. Will send some people there too. We'll definitely be back, it was a great evening. Thank you

So far the best among restaurants with a similar concept. The food was fresh and tasty. Nice competent service. Tidy, cozy and spacious atmosphere.

Tasty, but there are problems due to the fact that the order is only through the tablet. 25 € per 1 person, but this price does not include drinks, even such as cola or even plain water. The waiters are polite Reply. So really delicious and the interior is great. I change to 4 * stars

Very, very delicious food, fast and friendly service, nice restaurant. We have been regular guests at Shangrilla for years and are happy to have found a worthy successor, so we would love to come back;) Recommended. The "digital buffet" in particular lets you try out a lot and gives you a feeling of security.

Nice big restaurant, very nice staff, very fresh and delicious food. Price performance is right here. The sushi here surprisingly tastes very good for an all you can eat. It is also served on a beautiful stone plate and not in simple plates as is usual. The only thing missing is this superfluous smoke in a glass and it could easily pass as expensive sushi :-) Clear recommendation.

Usually I never go to buffet restaurants, but this was such a pleasant surprise! Nicely decorated restaurant, you order everything via Ipad on your table and in a few minutes waiter is bringing you everything you've ordered! Nice, and food is tasty as well.

We became aware of the restaurant through Instagram advertising and tried it out directly. The concept of ordering via an iPad sounded interesting. The food would have deserved 4-5 stars, the service and the ambience only 1-2 stars, so overall a benevolent 3. There is a wide range of hot dishes, sushi and other Asian specialties. Everything tasted good and was nicely presented. The waiting times were not acceptable. It was a complete mess. It took forever to even be seen, then forever to bring an iPad and we only had the drinks 45 minutes after entering the restaurant. In between we almost wanted to leave. So the concept doesn't seem to be working really well yet. In addition, almost all the waiters did not wear their masks over their mouths and noses, but only over their mouths. The ambience also took some getting used to. There was another children's birthday party in the evening, it was loud, children running and strange loud happy birthday music. The green flashing light was also a little uncomfortable. Despite the ipads there was still a small buffet with ice cream, fruit and sweet dishes (frozen cakes). The ice cream tasted extremely artificial and is not recommended. Overall not worth repeating.

Delicious. Friendly service. There is a great terrace to sit outside. Extensive choice of dishes. Very pleasant and chilled out. Food and drinks are ordered on the iPad, which the children had a lot of fun with. We would love to come back.

Delicious food for 24 € a second person for half price and you eat what you want. You order for this summer and the waiter tells you what you want and how much you want .. Only drinks need to be filled apart from the price. There is not much choice. Supposedly 150 dishes but 5 kinds of duck with any other sauce .. 30 or more kinds of sushi (that's a plus). But great food and a nice atmosphere at the entrance

We came across the restaurant by chance via an Instagram advertisement and tried it out for two last Tuesday. The restaurant is relatively large and also suitable for large groups. With the All You Can Eat offer, you order via an iPad in several rounds. Ten orders per round, one round is limited to 10 minutes. Waiting times for the food were consistently short. The drinks are very fairly priced and have an impeccable taste - we chose two of the homemade lemonades. The service is extremely courteous and incredibly friendly. Now to the food: We have already tried many All You Can Eat concepts and restaurants and have NEVER been so enthusiastic! The price-performance ratio in particular is almost unbeatable. The menu is very extensive: from sushi to grilled dishes to soups and salads, everything is included. Every dish is presented in an appealing way. In terms of quality and taste, we couldn't find a single point of criticism. Especially with All You Can Eats it can happen that sushi quality in particular quickly suffers from the crowd - this is absolutely NOT the case here. The fish is fresh and tastes great. Very great restaurant with delicious food! 100% recommendation, thank you very much !!

Concept (by Sangrila) was (presumably) changed by Corona. The self-service buffet has been dropped. All dishes are ordered using a tablet, except for dessert. A wide selection of sushi, Asian dishes is available. The quality and taste of the food is good. The service is friendly but a bit disorganized. Unfortunately, two of my first rounds of ordering allegedly had connection problems, so the order went under, half an hour passed. The tablet was in the WLAN and did not display an error message. But since the dishes in good were a star deduction.

It was an incredible experience. I was a little skeptical at first, but what came on the table was sensational. Always worth a visit. But not so quickly in a row, that is a special pleasure to eat there!

Nice restaurant atmosphere, u order your food with a mobile device and can enjoy several dishes. A big variety on fruits, cakes and dessert were available from the buffet. Very convenient by S-Bahn Ostendstraße or you can park for free in the Parkhaus.

This restaurant reinvented itself in the course of the Corona times. My conclusion lonely top class. Order (All you can eat) on a tablet. The food came quickly and plentifully (little tip, order a bit and then again and again) Unfortunately we ordered too much at once, please don't make the same mistake. The service staff was great in recommending everyone to give it a try. Thank you for a successful evening !!!!!!

The food was delicious. But it was very restless there. There was smoking at the open door. A man with a computer was talking on the loudspeaker. Two other men kept going to the back restaurant, but they didn't eat. So total unrest. It's a shame.

The choice is very limited. Once the desserts were over, no new ones were brought. By the time we came to the desserts, there was pretty much nothing left.

Poor selection. Greasy food and plates. Were told we couldn't change our reservation but the place was empty when we arrived. Spoons were left over boiling plates so you couldn't pick them up to get food. Avoid.

The best restaurant

Arfter the reopening and renaming of this place, I've been itching to go see whats changed, but some reviews got me worried and I postponed for a while. I was pleasantly surprised. The place has only gotten better. It looks nicer and cleaner and now has live music, which consists of a person playing a piano, makes me have a really classy vibe. The food is as good as ever, even though the buffet itself seemed a bit smaller and with less choices, but that might be just because things are now separated further apart. We had both pre prepared food and made plates for the grill. They were amazing as ever and even got wine recommendation in English. The staff speaks both English and German, I don't know about other languages. Over all it has only gotten better, I think even some prices are lower. I can whole heatedly recommend. Go and be creative, especially for the grill, I added some lychee to mine to imitate a type of Thai curry and it was just perfect. Lamb meat is also something to go for. As a final word props to the staff for being really nice.

At the end of our dinner, Staff Shangri-la ask to pay extra 5€ due to don't finish everything's on our dishes ( I'm not evaluating theirs specialities :( so nobody can push how much to eat) We were with a child, and she get a bit scared after our conversation They doesn't print out a bill for what we pay PS : @ 7,90 €/water bottle (750 ml) Avoid!

The last time I went I spent 67 euros and the food was old and cold. Don’t go they lost their ability to make a good buffet

Second or third time going there. Very few people for such a big restaurant but the food was amazing, well worth it.

The food is so tasty but they wrote in the page that children under 4they dont pay money but they took money for the daughter i ask the waitress and she said we should pay

Centrally located and quality wise though not premium but still quite good! The mongolische buffet is quite good actually and the main spread is also nice though a lot of fried items so not that healthy Dessert is disappointing however Tai pan in Taunus is far better in quality of products and buffet range but my wife insists food is tastier in Sangrila!!

A large variety of asian foods, including sea foods cooked, beef and chicken. Staff is not so great regarding service. For the ones that love asian cuisine, it's worth taking a peak 😁
